 Applying for Service:
You must apply for service in person. A service application must be filled out, identification must be presented, and a deposit or any fees must be paid before service will be connected. Renters must have a copy of lease or have our Renter Verification Form filled out and signed by the owner. Home owners must have proof of ownership, for example: Insurance policy, Tax records, Deed, etc. Business applicants must have a copy of their business license. An existing service can usually be connected the same day a deposit is made if the person is in the office by 12:00 pm. If the gas is off, we will need to get into the house to check and light your appliances. If the gas is on, we will only need to read the meter.
New Service:
You must apply for service in person. A service application must be filled out, identification must be presented and deposit or any fees must be paid before service will be run. Renters must have a copy of lease or have our Renter Verification Form filled out and signed by the owner. Home owners must have proof of ownership, for example: Insurance policy, Tax records, Deed, etc. Business applicants must have a copy of their business license. All new service lines will be placed on the work schedule and ran as soon as possible. Within the city limits, the city is responsible for all inspections. Outside the city limits, North Alabama Gas District does the inspections.
